Sumario:Crowdfunding appearance and the reality of the climate change are two social facts that deserve attention by law. However, the both have difficulty to dialogue, because on the one hand there is the speed of technology breakthrough, on the other hand, the parallel with the conventional age and tradition of law, which leaves it a little behind the advent of innovations. This is the reason why this article analyzes the reality of the climate change and the situation of crowdfunding as funding method, using the role of law in this case, to reflect on the usefulness of this tool and the financing within combating climate change purposes. Thus, through a descriptive and expository methodology of normativity, a systematic and a comparative methodology of the potentiality of the tool, this paper studies, how the crowdfunding, following an understanding that goes beyond the profitable financial and economic conception, but takes into account social, ethical, cultural and environmental aspects, contributes to the guarantee social rights, and the sustainable development.
