Descripción
Sumario:This paper is an analysis of the relationship of Plato and Heraclitus of Ephesus on the basis of the Platonic references to the Ephesian in the dialogues Theaetetus and Sophist. In the first work, the Ephesian seems to be refuted; in the latter, on the other hand, he seems to be honored. Keeping in mind Aristotle’s and Diogenes Laertius’ testimonies that Plato, in his youth, was a “heraclitean”, the paper will think over, just to say, that “murder” and that “resuscitation” of “father” Heraclitus by Plato. It will also suggest a solution for the seeming divergence of Plato’s positions in both dialogues.
