| Sumario: | This article is the synthesis of the postdoctoral research developed in the Communication Sciences program at Unesp, Bauru campus, between 2021 and 2022. In this research, the journalism theories that study the selection criteria and construction of news were seen from the perspective of decolonial studies. These studies take into account the consequences of colonization in Latin America, which resulted in societies that reproduce the colonial logic in several instances. The postdoctoral research proposed the updating of journalism theories with support from the bibliography of decolonial studies. As a case study, issue number 59 of Nossa América magazine, published by Fundação Memorial da América Latina, was analyzed. |
