| Sumario: | Under the open access assumptions, the current context of science production has been praising the sharing and openness of research data. In Brazil, the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (Inde) was established by the Decree Law no. 6,666 / 08 setting itself as a successful example of an initiative for opening the spatial data, and has influenced Embrapa to promote the opening of its own spatial data generated within its researches. It is necessary to consider the issues associated with the representation of the data, or precisely, the description of the metadata as a crucial element for the data to be made available. Therefore, the objective of this work is to present the experience of Embrapa in structuring the process of organization and representation of spatial data, contextualizing them under the considerations of Information Science and Geosciences. |
