Resumo:This research aimed to evaluate the satisfaction and burden levels of the professional team working in a mental health service and to make a qualitative observation study of their working conditions. Data were collected from a sample of 15 workers, 54.3% female and 46.7% men, with a range age from 21 to 68 years old. Satisfaction and burden were evaluated by the application of the Satis-BR and Impacto-BR scales. Observation of the professional activities and interviews were made to evaluate their work conditions. Satisfaction with service was moderate (3.86). Burden level was low (1.60), being higher in regard to the emotional impact of work and lower concerning the consequences in their health. The qualitative study showed several difficulties in the organization and work conditions. this study showed the need to increase the investments in mental health services, regarding physical and human resources.
