Description
Summary:Objective: To analyze the importance of the nurse in the dying process in the daily life of the relatives of terminal patients. Methodology: The study is an integrative review of the literature between 2013 and 2019 with descriptive analysis, through a survey of electronic data from the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo). Results: The results show that the nurse has fundamental importance in this context, because it is a direct contact with the familiar and can somehow bring some comfort to this familiar. Conclusion: It was concluded with this work that nurses play a fundamental role in the daily life of the relatives of terminal patients, since it is the Nurse who is in daily follow-up of this patient and in daily contact with the relative, although the Nurse often feels incapacitated by their training poor, as this subject is often not addressed in the undergraduate. After several studies it is noted that the nurse excelled in the techniques and postures developed in this daily life, which requires a differentiated attitude to this professional through the reception and protection, providing a better quality of life for the patient and his family, maintaining the ethics of care being always willing to help and ameliorate in some way the suffering of the death process, allowing an extension in the way of caring for the patient, providing the necessary support to the family member.
