Descripción
Sumario:The main purpose of this article is to propose activities for English teaching  focused on the parameters indicated by the BNCC’s 6th grade of Brazilian Elementary School based on the perspective of Critical Literacies (COSTA LEITE 2018; MATTOS 2012; SILVA 2012). In addition, we seek to promote an articulation between the theory of Critical Literacies and the concept of habitus (BOURDIEU, 1983), showing how Critical Literacies are able to foster the construction of a more critical habitus. We conclude that the roles of the school and the English language class, in particular, should go beyond the mere teaching of content, with a possibility of a citizen education promotion, aiming at the development of social justice.
