| Summary: | The physical activity mainly in gyms is intensifying and increasingly seeks to improve resources for body, either through supplementation or a balancedmeal plan. Thus, the aim of this study is to assess the knowledge that bodybuilders have about nutrition. The study was characterized as transversal, descriptive in nature, the sample consisted of all bodybuilders, of both sexes, age greater than or equalto 20 years, in a gym located within Bonita -Santa Catarina. It was used a self-administered questionnaire, consisting of 09 questions covering topics in the area of food and nutrition, such as socio-demographic variables: sex, age and education, and specific variables, such as water consumption, feed pre-workout and post-workout and supplement use. The data collected were processed using descriptive statistics in the form of a percentage (%). The results indicate a higher prevalence than males (52%), agerange of 20-30 years (72%), and practicing bodybuilding for better quality of life (56.5%). Few use supplements (13%), but believe that food before training should contain carbohydrates (65.2%), and post-workout protein (69.6). It was concluded that the participants are concerned about the issues addressed in this research, but there is little guidance requiring professional nutritionist along the physical educator. |
