| Sumario: | The use of exogenous enzymes is a biotechnology used to optimize the production of ruminants, by improving the ruminal digestibility and degradability of fiber, starch and protein present in the most diverse foods. The objective was to evaluate the effect of exogenous enzymes supplied as an additive in goat feed on consumption and blood metabolites. Twenty-one crossbred kids ½ Anglo Nubian x ½ Saanen, with an average age of 2 months, weighing an average of 16.77 kg were used. These animals were housed in collective pens, divided into four treatments: Control (without any addition of enzyme); Amaize® (amylolytic enzyme); Allzyme® (enzyme mix) and Fibrozyme® (fibrolytic enzyme). Dry matter intake (DMI) and blood concentration of energetic, enzymatic and protein metabolites were evaluated. The design used was completely randomized with repeated measures over time. Treatment means were evaluated by the SNK test at a significance level of 5% and periods by regression analysis of linear and quadratic effects at a significance level of 5%. The animals showed an exponential increase in DMI over the period. There was interaction between treatment and experimental period for glucose, low density lipoprotein (LDL), high density lipoprotein (HDL), LDL/HDL and TC/HDL ratios, uric acid and creatinine. There was an effect of the period for cho- lesterol, gamma glutamyltransferase (GGT), albumin, urea and total proteins. The increases in the values of energy and protein metabolites can be explained by the greater degradation of food provided by the enzymes, generating more energy available to the animals. Despite the changes in values as recommended for the species, injuries were not evidenced when evaluating the enzymatic profile of the animals. The use of exogenous enzymes Amaize®, Allzy- me® and Fibrozyme® favored the degradation of carbohydrates, allowing greater nutritional status for the animals demonstrated by the high values of energy and protein metabolites. |
