Sumario:Considering the wealth of elements that samba school parades encompass and present to us, the purpose of this work is to present the samba school carnival, more specifically the samba-enredo, as an instrument for valuing Afro-Brazilian culture in the history teaching. To this end, I propose a brief analysis of the samba-plot “História para lunar gente grande” by the samba school Estação Primeira de Mangueira, produced by carnival artist Leandro Vieira, presented in the Rio de Janeiro-RJ carnival parade in 2019, which presents a new look at the history of Brazil, creating a narrative that seeks to praise the characters, groups and events that were erased from the book, which history does not tell.
