| Sumario: | The association between erectile dysfunction and the metabolic syndrome are characterized by abnormal endothelial function because the majority of the components of metabolic syndrome are also risk factors for erectile dysfunction and cardiovascular disease. The pathophysiology of ED should be understood to facilitate the choice of treatment options and to reach a good outcome of the erectile problems. Any risk factor (sedentary lifestyle, obesity, tabagism, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, etc...) for cardiovascular disease should be identified, modified and treated. |
