Sumario:This article analyzes the interplay between healing practices and symbolic religious universes in the context of Argentine contemporary Catholicism: the charismatic movement formed around Father Ignacio Peries. The paper points out the broad character of the categories and practices related to health and disease, not restricted to biomedicine. It notes that care and attention process include a religious ritual dimension. In doing so, approaches of these issues from social sciences are explored. Secondly, the religious movement under analysis is presented. Finally, the management modalities of the process of health / disease / care and ritual exemplify the participation in play by actors in dealing with health symbolic configurations.
