Sumario:To develop an fair and ethical assessment method that aids in the learning process has been one of the challenges of teaching today. This paper describes the use of assessment in a guided learning experience based in research methodology in the science education classroom. The experiment was carried out in a 8th grade class from a private elementary school in the city of Miguel Pereira, Rio de Janeiro, after noticed the declining interest of students for science class. The assessment of students' learning has been carried out during the experiment, using the activities provided in the methodology, as evaluative instruments.
