| Sumario: | This paper proposes a modification in both topology and operation algorithm for the existent 2/3 level converter. The modified strategy is of simple implementation. In addition, the modified topology reduces the switching losses and the command complexity. The harmonic distortion and losses of the two- level converter, the three-level Neutral-Point-Clamped (NPC) converter and the 2/3-level converter are compared. Also the limitation of the modified topology operation is investigated. Simulated and experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed topology and pulsewidth modulation method. |
