| Sumario: | This article presents the state of knowledge on environmental issues of a geography magazine, the Boletim Paulista de Geografia (BPG). The aim is to investigate the approach of environmental themes for geographic analysis in the BPG articles between 2001 and 2021. A brief history of the BPG importance in relation to the encouragement of teaching and research in geography is carried out. It is a qualitative approach research: the state of knowledge. The corpus of analysis is constituted from one of its lines of the BPG publication: “Physical and Biological Geography”. Bardin's (1977) content analysis procedures are adopted. In this survey, 35 selected articles make up the corpus of analysis. Initially, these publications are correlated to the institutions, authors and analysis scale of these publications. From the framework of these studies, six thematic axes are observed: a) environment dynamics; b) environmental planning and preservation; c) environmental impacts; d) physical components of space and their relationships; e) environmental concepts; and f) environmental resources. Based on the results of this survey, the contributions of environmental themes to the training of geography teachers and bachelors are conceived. In this regard, the composition of a geographic thought is verified so as to consider geographic concepts (space, scale and time), the geographic axiom of the relationship between society and nature and the mobilization of methodologies and cartographic language. |
