| Resumo: | This article is part of a study under development, linked to the Master’s Dissertation of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism, at the University of São Judas Tadeu, which inquires about the reasons that may have contributed to the reduction of space of the apartment building in São Paulo. The article is based on a chronological investigation of the transformation of the housing typology in the first decades of the 20th century, showing the main factors related to the reduction of space, and then seeks to establish relations between the Frankfurt CIAM guidelines of 1929 with this reduction of the internal area of the housing. It is interesting to investigate if there are indications that this document may have been a driver in the rethinking of the dimensions of the environments, trying to relate it to the practices and discussions practiced in the field of architecture in São Paulo, through the analysis of examples of housing units built after CIAM of 1929. Keywords: CIAM; Minimum housing; Industrialization; Apartment; Kitchenette. |
