Descrição
Resumo:The paper examines the plausibility of the conservative argument about technology. In the first section, the thesis from Discourse on the arts and the sciences by Rousseau is stated and the arguments which ground it are explained and discussed. In the second section, Hans Jonas"™ account of the relation  between moral progress and technical progress is explained and discussed as well. The conclusion is that the technologies aren"™t good or bad in themselves, they are amoral. Notwithstanding, they must be viewed as opportunities of moral enhancement.
