| Sumario: | Many different interpreters of Theodor W. Adorno's work suggest that the critique of instrumental rationality has replaced the critique of capitalism in the development of his work, mainly because of the adoption of the diagnosis about the emergence of state capitalism, which was proposed by Friedrich Pollock. In this paper, I question the acceptance by Adorno, at least in his later work, of such diagnosis and show that the critique of capitalism was not replaced by the critique of reason, but complemented by it. |
