| Resumo: | This article emerges in light of the concerns that resides in the educational universe about epistemic privilege and/or Eurocentric curriculum. It brings some critical reflections, with the purpose of contributing to the disruption of convenient speeches and silencing, when considering the operationalization of Law n.° 10.639/2003. Therefore, it aims to deconstruct hegemonic discourses on the contributions of African and Afro-Brazilian peoples to the origin of games on the national scenario, especially highlighting fruitful ways to explore the potential of maculelê, capoeira, jongo and mancala games in the chemistry teaching at different educational levels. Therefore, we present the ancestral roots of games from African and Afro-Brazilian matrices for the educational context, and point out the potentialities of their use, in addition to indicate combinations of actions related to their dynamics with other essential didactic strategies for their application to chemistry teaching. |
