Descrição
Resumo:The present research, of the State of Knowledge type, studies the master's and doctoral level productions that address concepts of geometry and the knowledge of teachers who teach Mathematics. The objective was to present a mapping of the theses and dissertations that involve geometry concepts based on the Mathematical Teacher’s Specialized Knowledge (MTSK). Searches were conducted in the databases of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel and the Brazilian Library of Theses and Dissertations, using the descriptors “MTSK”, “specialized knowledge” and “geometry”. Only six dissertations discussing the research themes were identified. The listed productions were developed empirically, through case studies. No research was found focusing on the Northern and Northeastern regions; however, in the Southeastern region, specifically in São Paulo, four works were found, and in the Southern and Central-Western regions, one work each was found. For the presentation of the results, it was determined that more detailed clarifications were necessary, with an emphasis on obtaining data to adequately present and define the research found, which led to the decision to read all introductions and, in some cases, the entire dissertation. It can be inferred that there is a scarcity of work in this area. This scarcity can be attributed to the fact that the studied theory was initiated in 2012. It is considered that the use of geometric knowledge related to MTSK offers numerous opportunities for study, and such research can contribute to a significant improvement in the training process of teachers.
