Descripción
Sumario:The metaverse is emerging as a technological possibility full of potential in the educational context. This article analyzes the use of the metaverse and digital media as tools for critical and creative learning. Based on a qualitative bibliographic study and a review of the use of ICTs, it examines the impact on teaching and learning, considering inclusive elements as well as the limitations resulting from the dependence on technological resources. The text addresses, from a socio-critical perspective and focusing on discourse analysis according to Wodak and Meyer, arguments regarding the adoption of the metaverse in a dialectical movement of innovation and the maintenance of power structures in education. It is evident that the metaverse, beyond being just a tool, has the potential to transform and expand the educational process through personalization, the expansion of reality, comparability, and creativity, provided that students engage in critical thinking.
