Description
Summary:The article deals with ethics and integrity in educational research, distinct, correlated and necessary categories for the qualified development of scientific research. Based on the concern about how integrity and ethics in research are being addressed in scientific articles in the educational field, an integrative review study was conducted with the aim of analyzing current scientific production (2019-2023), regarding ethics and integrity in educational research. Methodologically, we have considered the open access scientific articles available on Web of Science and Scopus, from the search with the descriptors "Ethics" AND "Integrity" AND "Educational research". 192 articles were exported to Rayyan for evaluation by double anonymity and filed in PRISMA. As a result, twenty articles were processed in IRaMuTeq, for which four categories emerged: 1) institutional methodologies to prevent plagiarism and preserve academic integrity; 2) training researchers in research integrity; 3) educational resources promoting research integrity and ethics and their relationship with cultural practices; and 4) research integrity and ethics and open science. The categorical analysis of the Descending Hierarchical Classification dendrogram, the word cloud and the similarity graph allowed us to infer the need to treat ethics and integrity with a holistic and formative approach in order to foster a culture of good scientific practice, with a view to reducing misconduct and increasing the adoption of good practices in scientific behavior for the advancement of knowledge and the benefit of society.
