| Resumo: | Problem solving plays a central role in the teaching and learning of mathematics. Research in Mathematics Education highlights that in the early years of elementary school this approach can contribute to the development of logical reasoning in childhood. Therefore, the present study is characterized as a State of the Question and aims to analyze theses and dissertations that address mathematical problem solving in the early years of elementary school in educational experiences. For the data survey, we used the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations. In the analysis, we employed the following categories: temporal recurrence, teaching level, thematic units, perspectives on using problem solving in the classroom. Our results highlight that in the research analyzed, there is a plurality of perspectives on the pedagogical work with problem solving, which enables diverse paths to put into action in the educational field. |
