Descripción
Sumario:This article discusses values of city councilors of Curitiba-Brazil on social rights. The collection of data was through interviews and the analysis focuses on the principles of the 1988 Brazilian Federal Constitution. We discussed the importance of ideological placements and political parties for understanding the values on social rights. The results indicate that the values of the party members identified as centerright and right had greater coherence than the center-left and left. The values of those city councilors expressed reduced validation of the legal rules, especially for the case of the rights of social assistance, nutritional safety and direct monetary transfer.
