Sumario:This article proposes an analysis of the video clip Flei taking into account the articulations between genre, musical genre and online platforms for the provision of musical contents. In order to understand what is a video clip we must consider the role that new audiovisual mediations play in an environment where the television grid no longer has the importance it had in the MTV era. Thus, we sought to analyze the music video for the song “Flei”; by singer Daniel Peixoto, as a current example of how the signatures of genre and musical genres are articulated in political and aesthetic way. Thus, from the development of the theoretical framework formed by the concepts of post-MTV music video, mediation, genre and musical genres we conclude that video clips in the current cultural scene before being products for the dissemination of musical products are public performances mediations of tastes associated with musical genres.
