In the Russianeconomic history, as opposed to the British case, State and the foreign capital was the mainresponsible for the country’s economic changes. On the other hand, the formation of a capitalistsystem has been based upon big land ownership and upon peasant impoverishment,instead of a really revolutionary way based on the peasant economy. The study has tried tograsp the historical process which has generated the internal market to capitalism and toappreciate the role of both the State and the foreign capital in the large industry formationwhich, in fact, had already been a reality at the end of the 19th century. JEL Classification: N13; P11.Este trabalho enfoca o período de transição em que se estabeleceram as principaiscondições para o modo de produção capitalista na economia russa. A escolha destepaís deveu-se às características especiais do seu padrão de desenvolvimento. Na históriaeconômica russa, ao contrário do caso britânico, o Estado e o capital estrangeiro foramos principais responsáveis pelas mudanças econômicas do país. Por outro lado, a formaçãode um sistema capitalista tem se baseado na grande propriedade fundiária e no empobrecimentodos camponeses, ao invés de uma forma realmente revolucionária baseada na economiacamponesa. O estudo procurou apreender o processo histórico que gerou o mercadointerno para o capitalismo e avaliar o papel tanto do Estado quanto do capital estrangeirona formação da grande indústria que, de fato, já era uma realidade no final do século XIX.
