description Hypertension has a high prevalence and low control rates, being considered one of the worst public health challenges. The objective of thisstudy was to investigate the control of hypertension in adults according to the Dader Method of Pharmacotherapy Monitoring.The Dader Method of Pharmacotherapy Monitoring was applied to 25 patients with continued use of antihypertensivemedications, registered in the “Unidade Básica de Saúde” (Basic Health Unit) at Pontal do Araguaia-MT, Brazil,during three months. The analysis was done through descriptive statistics and Student’s t test for paired samples. Amongthe data obtained, it was found that 100% of the patients presented drug related problems, requiring 133 pharmaceuticalinterventions aimed at addressing these problems. The most common PRM was not using the medicine needed by the patient.At baseline, 40% of patients had uncontrolled hypertension despite prescribed treatment. After the pharmaceuticalinterventions, all patients had a reduction in blood pressure, and only 8% did not reach the normal blood pressure levels.The application of Dader Method resulted in significant improvement in blood pressure of patients throughout the pharmacotherapymonitoring, confirming its importance in the outpatient management of hypertension.

Nesse contexto, a Atenção Farmacêutica tem se constituído como uma nova prática clínica para o farmacêutico.O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar os benefícios da aplicação do método Dáder de seguimento farmacoterapêutico nocontrole da hipertensão arterial em adultos. Foi aplicado o Programa Dáder de Seguimento Farmacoterapêutico em 25pacientes com uso contínuo de medicamentos anti-hipertensivos, cadastrados em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde, nomunicípio de Pontal do Araguaia-MT, Brasil, durante três meses. A análise dos resultados ocorreu por meio de estatísticadescritiva e teste t de Student para amostras pareadas. Entre os dados obtidos, identificou-se que 100% dos pacientes apresentaramProblemas Relacionados aos Medicamentos (PRM), sendo necessárias 133 intervenções farmacêuticas, visandoà resolução desses problemas. O PRM mais frequente foi a não utilização do medicamento necessário pelo paciente. Noinício do estudo, 40% dos pacientes apresentaram hipertensão arterial não controlada, apesar da terapia medicamentosaprescrita. Após as intervenções farmacêuticas, todos os pacientes tiveram redução da pressão arterial, e apenas 8% nãoalcançaram os níveis pressóricos normais.
