Descripción
Sumario:This paper analyzes the construction of Jorge Semprún’s autobiographical discourse. We consider his literary work always arises as a response to the word of others; as a dialogue with otherness. In a materialization of the Bakhtinian conception of verbal creation, each statement comes in response to a previous statement, as a link that weaves an infinite dialogue. Despite his autobiographical matrix, writing develops as a constant shift towards otherness and advances through quotes, philosophical discussions and literary references. This will lead us to discuss the role poetic recitation plays in narrating the experience in a concentration camp, as well as the sense of intertextuality in Semprún's work. Finally, we will see how the redefinition of textuality in terms of intertextuality comprehends a redefinition of identity in intersubjective terms.
