Working with the biography of the “Caesars”, Suetonius positioned himself as a defender of the moral thoughts of the senatorial group, constructing examples conduct sometimes positive and sometimes negative throughout his writing . In the present study we will observe in the work the moment of greatest political agitation in the first century AD, the governments of Galba (3 BC, 69 AD), Oton (32-69 AD) and Vitellius (15-69 AD). That is, the civil war in the period from 68 to 69 AD. We will trace the signs of instability projected by the author in the period, while trying to consider the possible intelligibility of the narrative construction in his own time. Caio Suetônio Tranquilo (69 – após 121/22 d.C.), escrevendo em inícios do século II d.C., transmitiu diversas perspectivas críticas sobre a política do século I d.C. em sua obra A Vida dos Doze Césares. Trabalhando com a biografia dos chamados “Césares”, Suetônio posicionou-se como um defensor dos referenciais morais do grupo senatorial, construindo exemplos de conduta ora positivos, ora negativos ao longo de sua escrita. No presente estudo observaremos na referida obra aquele que foi considerado o instante de maior agitação política no século I d.C., os governos de Galba (3 a.C. – 69 d.C.), Otão (32 – 69 d.C.) e Vitélio (15 – 69 d.C.). Ou seja, a guerra civil no período de 68 a 69 d.C.
