| Resumo: | The increase in sustainable consumption in cosmetology has triggered a greater use of natural raw materials for the development of formulations. Vegetable oils contain fatty acids that are fundamental to the body. This work aimed to carry out a technological survey on the use of fatty acids from vegetable oils in cosmetology. EPO, WIPO, INPI, LENS and Google Patents databases were used, with the keywords “Fatty Acids Vegetable Oils/Fatty Acids Vegetable Oils”, “Cosmetics Vegetable Oils/Cosmetics Vegetable Oils” and “Cosmetics Fatty Acids/Cosmetics Fatty Acids”. INPI had the lowest number of patent filings, while LENS had the highest number of patents. The international scenario looks more like investments. Brazil needs more stimulus to achieve further advances in this area of study. In addition, the country must use its natural resources a competitive advantage in the middle of the national and international market. |
