Resumo:This article aims to present the partial results of a series of interviews with women in the community of Magdalena de Cao (North Coast of Peru), seeking to understand the female empowerment generated from the figure of Moche leader, Señora de Cao, in the last years. It also discuss the impacts of tourism that have occurred in the city, in the alteration of the urban space, as well as in the economic and social relations, especially in those of gender.
