Descripción
Sumario:The research deals with the selective migration process of young family farmers in the municipality of São Lourenço do Sul, located in Rio Grande do Sul. The methodology consists of a bibliographic review, data collection through the application of am open questionnaire to students who attended the last year of high school and technical education in rural schools and six in-depth interviews with two groups of young people, one composed of three women living in rural areas and the other, by three who migrated to urban space. The data were analyzed through discourse analysis. The research found that selective migration occurs mainly due to issues related to gender patriarchal logic that ends up limiting the opportunities and quality of life of young family farmers.
