| Sumario: | This is an investigation with the aim of describing the informational practices of Deaf users through the web and the difficulties faced by them, mainly considering the language barrier. The research considers that the Deaf subject is the one who communicates through the Brazilian Sign Language – Libras, as a first language and uses Portuguese in the written format as a second language. The methodology is descriptive with a qualitative approach and had the participation of four Deaf individuals and Libras users. Data collection used an instrument elaborated in two versions: Portuguese language and Libras. The results show that the Deaf are having more opportunities in the academic context and in the labor market, through legislation that seeks to include them and minimize accessibility difficulties. Data analysis allowed some considerations to be made about the informational practices of this group, considered a minority, in such a diverse society. |
