| Sumario: | Courses with Basic Area of Admission are those in which the graduate enters the Higher Education choosing only the area and after experiencing a basic set of disciplines and experiences choose between the bachelor degree and the teacher training degree. This study aimed to understand the reasons that led undergraduates of the ABI Biological Sciences courses at the Federal University of Santa Catarina to choose the teacher formation degree and identify and reflect on this moment. It was noticed that the main factor involved in the choice of course was the affinity for Biology and that the desire to act as a teacher, initially, has little influence on the choice. It has been seen that many students entering the course are not aware of the need to choose one of the courses and that the choice for the teacher training degree can occur before entering or during graduation. When given during, it happens mainly close to the 6th phase and is influenced by curricular and personal factors. |
