| Sumario: | Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world, with 2.5 million players. The study presents the initial characteristics of the modality in Brazil, its importance and evolution. A review of the literature and moments of observation of the development of the project were carried out, both for the social project, as well as for the women's selection and the base selections. The article demonstrates that the modality, still little known, played a fundamental role in the culture of our country, mainly due to the emergence of several social and sports clubs, impacting the lives of many children and young people inserted in vulnerable environments. With the practice of the modality, these young people have developed psychosocial skills, enhancing their integral, personal and professional training through sport. |
