| Summary: | Incompatibilities arising from the implementation of infrastructures over consolidated territorial dynamics are recurrent. Based on this axiom, the objective is to investigate the involvement of infrastructure planning in such incompatibilities. Methodologically, the analysis is based on theoretical schools that relate infrastructure and the city and uses studies on new infrastructures or interventions in existing infrastructures. The text provides a brief review of historical infrastructural patterns, addresses priorities in their conceptions, and studies their operational cycles. From this framework, it was possible to formulate the argument that, in Brazil, infrastructure is designed to (re)structure sectors, and when implemented, it (de)structures places. This argument motivated the investigation of new conceptual frameworks that allowed us to advocate that the design of infrastructures should be based on territorial evidence. |
