| Sumario: | This article aims to analyze the experiences of the four women who compose the genealogy of the family drawn by Carola Saavedra in the novel With somnolent weapons (2018). It is hypothesized that the novel in question criticizes canonical narratives with the intention of totalizing the meaning of history and life by betting on the construction of a writer character who needs to deconstruct herself through writing to find herself. For this reason, we rely on the feminist critique of Teresa de Lauretis and the decolonial critique of Grada Kilomba in order to highlight the paths and the weapons that the characters use to overcome subalternity, violence and silence.
