Sumario:This paper aims to identify possible existence of wage discrimination between men and women in the Brazilian public sector. The study is conducted from the database of the National Continuous Household Sample Survey for the first quarter of 2018. The binary variables regression method is used to estimate the wage gap between public servants. The results show that the male public servant has a higher average income than the female public servant, therefore it is concluded that there is wage discrimination in the Brazilian public service, although both sexes are governed by the same law.
