Descripción
Sumario:In his essay on literature and disease, Roberto Bolaño presents an intimate triad of experiences that guides us through the fundamental motivations behind poetry, surely built upon trips, sex and books. This paper questions how this triad operates in the work of the Cuban writer Reynaldo Arenas, especially in his autobiography, Antes que anochezca, in which disease redirects the path of traveling. If runaway is a constant theme in Arenas' works, in his autobiography, exile and disease merge as interchangeable signs.
