Description
Summary:The article aims to analyze some civic and corporeal manifestations that take place within shopping centers, especially in Costanera Center, in Santiago. This will be done by focusing on the elements of theatricality of the given acts in order to understand how these are contested spaces, perceived and experienced in very different ways by diverse actors of society. This is so because space, as Lefebvre points out, is eminently political. It is built, experienced, practiced not only in its material aspects but also in the complex networks of social relationships that are conceived, where the imaginary, beliefs, desires and discursive activity also occupy a fundamental place, full of symbolic and representational meaning. Acts in these spaces will be addressed as "exform/ s", a concept used by Nicolas Bourriaud (2015) to refer to "the form trapped in a procedure of exclusion or inclusion. That is to say, to every sign transiting between the center and the periphery, floating between dissidence and power".
