| Resumo: | When reading Macunaíma, the main novel by Mário de Andrade, one soon realizes that laziness is at the center of events. A documentary survey shows that this issue is potentiated in this author's research on the processes of creation of songs in Brazil. Laziness, in this case, is linked to an economy necessary for production, the fruit of a technical procedure, with its origins in popular traditions and cultural clashes. This article looks at studies that help to analyze the occurrence of the term laziness in society and in art. It goes through points of modernist musical thought to relate them to the manuscript Poética popular by Mário de Andrade, belonging to the archive of the Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros (institute of brazilian studies) of the Universidade de São Paulo (university of São Paulo). |
