| Resumo: | This article examines the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in public security policies in Brazil, discussing how such tools, when mobilized by the state, produce and reinforce a particular conception of humanity. Adopting a critical and intersectional approach grounded in the analysis of concrete cases, the text argues that these technologies function not merely as instruments of control but also embody historical, social, and cultural values that materialize in practices of selective surveillance. In this sense, the use of AI in public security is understood not simply as a technical matter, but as the expression of a political project- one that determines who matters, who deserves protection, and who may be subjected to elimination. |
