| Summary: | Adolescent pregnancy, as defined by Law No. 8.069/1990, refers to pregnancy in young women between the ages of twelve and eighteen. This phenomenon is associated with various health risks, including obstetric complications, mortality due to unsafe abortions, and increased vulnerability to infections. Protecting the life and health of adolescents is a priority, considering the challenges that early pregnancy imposes. The aim of this study was to analyze the risks and complications of adolescent pregnancy, with an emphasis on the importance of education, prevention, and nursing care. The methodology used was a literature review, allowing a critical analysis of the factors involved in this issue. The research highlights the essential role of nursing in the prenatal care of pregnant adolescents, guiding them on proper care, offering emotional and psychological support, and encouraging self-care. Furthermore, it emphasizes the relevance of educational strategies in preventing early pregnancy, providing essential information for young women to make informed and safe decisions. |
