Descripción
Sumario:The present investigation aims to undertake a reading of the novel Antes de nascer o mundo (2009), by the Mozambican Mia Couto, considering some guiding axes of the representations made by the author. Thus, because it is a narrative that is centered on the lives of characters who are hidden inside the African savannah in order to escape the hardships of war, the analysis we now propose intends to consider how the narrative attempts to elaborate and overcome certain traumas caused by the post-independence Mozambican civil war. To this end, authors such as Nazir Can (2020), Elena Brugioni (2019, 2012), and Jane Tutikian (2006) will be used as a theoretical scope to understand the mechanisms used by the author in order to portray war trauma, family breakdowns and the language elaborated by Couto in the representation of a Mozambique assaulted by internal conflicts.
