Sumario:Introduction: Because of its currently popularity, CrossFit® has been gaining different adepts in Brazil and around the world, and with this, a great variety of biotypes within the modality are observed. However, few studies present parameters about these variables, being that body composition and somatotype are of paramount importance for practice, better training effectiveness and athlete identification. Objective: To identify anthropometric characteristics, body composition and somatotype profile of CrossFit® practitioners and their relationship with other sports modalities. Materials and methods: The sample comprised 19 CrossFit® practitioners from a "Box". For data collection, anthropometric measurements were performed, and thus the measurement of body composition and somatotype. Results: Practitioners presented a mean percentage of fat of 16.5%, the somatotype classified the individuals in meso-endomorph. The analysis related to the reference "phantom" presented a Z score for skinfolds of -1.3, for perimeters of 1.7 and for bone diameters of 0.6. Representing low body fat values and a high development of lean mass. The results have favorable characteristics relating CrossFit® practitioners when compared to athletes of high performance. Conclusion: We concluded that CrossFit® practitioners have a slightly altered body composition, but with a predominance biotype similar to that of elite athletes or other specific modalities.
