| Sumario: | This essay analyzes the representation of the Peruvian victory over the Brazilian national football team in the Copa América Centenario 2016. Our corpus focuses on five printed media sports from Peru (Depor, Líbero, El Bocón, Todo Sport and La Kalle), from two days before the game until the day later, counting 20 editions. It is argued that the Peruvian sports press handled an ambivalent discourse: in the days before the match it presented the possible Peruvian victory as a feat or a mission of difficult concretion, while as the date of the meeting approached, its discourses were covered of a great triumphalism, considering the Peruvian victory as something possible. Along with this, we also focus on the media repercussions of the goal of the Peruvian triumph, illicitly converted with the arm by the player Raul Ruidiaz. |
