| Sumario: | From a comparative approach to the relocation of the "Rancho de Rosas" in San Miguel del Monte –Buenos Aires province– and the houses that belonged to the former inhabitants in Ushuaia –Tierra del Fuego–, we propose to analyze how the relocation of these buildings valued for their past affects the territorial conformation of the tourist circuits and heritage conservation of these cities. We focus on the current trend of constituting tourist-heritage attractions as itineraries, and address the territorial dimension of the processes of heritage and tourism. We argue that such relocations have contributed to the reconfiguration of local tourist circuits by transforming these buildings into territorial markers, which can also help strengthen the narratives of some subaltern groups –such as indigenous and/or Afro-descendants– whose past and present participation is largely silenced. |
