Sumario:The editorial comments on the challenges faced by bibliographic control in the internet era. Bibliographic control refers to the organization and management of bibliographic information, such as cataloging, indexing and creating metadata, to facilitate access to information resources. Currently, bibliographic control is being shaped by several trends and developments, namely: digital transformation, artificial intelligence, digital libraries and online catalogs, international collaboration, linked data and semantic web, metadata standards, open access, digital preservation and curation. In addition, articles included in the third and last 2023 issue of the Ibero-American Journal of Information Science are commented.
