| Resumo: | This thesis investigates the relationship between religious movements and the Brazilian political-partisan field, focusing on right-wing Pentecostalism between 2018 and 2022. The research analyzes the Convention of Evangelical Churches Assembly of God in Santa Catarina and Southwest Paraná (CIADESCP) and its influence on presidential elections. Utilizing the concepts of detraditionalization and reflexive modernization, developed by Anthony Giddens, the study examines the transformations within Pentecostalism and its political implications. It also explores the role of rationalization, as described by Max Weber, and the influence of Traditionalism, as defined by Mark Sedgwick, in the alliance between evangelical votes and Jair Bolsonaro. The thesis highlights religious mobilization and strategic alliances in forming a conservative Pentecostal political project |
