Sumario:The mineral exploration in Caeté, Minas Gerais, throughout the 18th century made possible the construction of the Mother Church of Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso which during the 19th century received works of paintings covering the ceiling of the nave and sacristy. In this sense the present article aims to analyze the history, shape and iconographic of the paintings of the Mother Church of Caeté. It is also intended to study the disappeared painting that covered the high chapel ceiling that was duly recorded by photographs and described in documentation capable of explaining fragments of its formal composition and history. The results of this research will allow to remember essential elements about the art that adorns the Caeteense temple.
